Liquid Waste

History of the Code of Practice
The Liquid & Hazardous Waste Code of Practice (the Code) was developed by the liquid waste contracting industry. Changes were occurring in legislation and tightening of controls on the industry and the industry wanted to be proactive and have an input into their future direction.

The Code relates to liquid waste and hazardous waste that is transported and has been developed to protect human health and the environment. It is intended that the Code provides best-practice references for parties involved in the waste industry and is based on best information that is currently available.

Following the development of the Code, an effective means of distributing the Code was required. At this point the Liquid Waste Contractors Special Interest Group was formed.
