Approved Backflow Technician's (ABT) Database
The Backflow Prevention Special Interest Group has developed a web-based database of Approved Backflow Technicians (ABTs). ABT's have a thorough knowledge of backflow prevention and cross connection control, and will have attended and passed an approved 40-hour Backflow course. The purpose of this database is to provide confidence to those who search the site, that these testers have met the pre-requisite standard.

BOC Where There's Water Community Environmental Grants
NZWWA administrates the BOC Where There's Water Community Environmental Grants programme which provides funding for projects that help the community understand, maintain, protect and improve their water environment. See here to find out more.

NZWETA
The New Zealand Water Environment Training Academy is a joint venture between NZWWA and Opus International Consultants with the purpose of facilitating training and development opportunities across all sectors of the broader water and wastes industry.

NZWWA Web Forum
The NZWWA Web Forum and open to all staff from territorial local authorities, suppliers, providers and consultants to the industry wanting to exchange knowledge in the area of water, wastewater and stormwater operations. It is a place to exchange ideas, pose questions, offer advice and learn from others' experiences.

Water Services Managers Group
The Water Services Managers’ Group (WSMG) is made up of Territorial Local Authorities or their agents who are responsible for the management of water supply, trunk sewers, local reticulation, sewage treatment and stormwater assets. See here to find out more.

Water Industry Training
Earn as you learn! Water Industry Training, part of the Agriculture Industry Training Organisation (ITO), administers training for people in the water and wastewater industries in New Zealand. Created by industry through the initiatives of the New Zealand Water and Wastes Association (NZWWA), Water Industry Training has a focus on qualifications recognised under the national qualifications framework.

Australian Water Association (AWA)
NZWWA has a close affiliation with the Australian Water Association. NZWWA maintains regular contact with activities of the AWA and members regularly travel to conferences and seminars in Australia, with formal representation at each of the respective annual conferences.

NZWWA members have access to the AWA Bookshop and can order publications direct from them or through the NZWWA Office.

Water Services Association of Australia
NZWWA is an associate member of WSAA, the Australian organisation representing primarily urban water utilites across Australia (and North Shore City, Watercare Services and Metrowater in New Zealand).

American Water Works Association
AWWA is the authoritative resource for knowledge, information, and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of drinking water in North America and beyond. AWWA is the largest organization of water professionals in the world. AWWA advances public health, safety and welfare by uniting the efforts of the full spectrum of the drinking water community.

Water Environment Federation (WEF)
NZWWA is the Member Association for WEF in New Zealand. The American-based WEF is a major water organisation with a prominent research arm. The New Zealand WEF Director is appointed by the Board of NZWWA. Any member of NZWWA can apply to become a member of WEF.

The Chartered Institution of Water &
Environmental Management (CIWEM) Subgroup

A number of NZWWA members are also members of CIWEM. New Zealand members form the CIWEM subgroup. The group represents the interests of the New Zealand CIWEM members on the Institution Council. The possibility of establishing a formal, New Zealand Branch is under consideration.
