NZWWA Structure and Role

Membership

This nationwide network of members represents many disciplines; physical and social sciences, public health,
engineering, law and management. The Association attracts decision makers and technologists from central and local government, industry, the academic and research communities, consultants and service/equipment supply organisations, who exchange information about water and wastes issues.

Forum

Founded in 1958, the Association provides a neutral forum where all viewpoints of environmental management issues receive full consideration.  The Association serves its members and the public by promoting environmental responsibility and providing technical and managerial leadership in the fields of water and wastes management.

Professional Development

Through NZWWA, members develop technical expertise, operational and management skills and familiarity with environmental issues. Members learn about technical advances in environmental control, trends in the profession and the probable effect of each in their work.

Advocacy

NZWWA makes submissions on behalf of members to parliament on issues that relate to the fundamentals in the Association's Mission Statement.
