New Zealand Water & Wastes Association
The Organisation
The New Zealand Water & Wastes Association (NZWWA) is the premier New Zealand organisation for environmental management professionals. The Association is a non-profit technical and educational organisation with more than 1500 members in New Zealand and overseas. This nationwide network of members represents many disciplines; physical and social sciences, public health, engineering, law and management. The Association attracts decision makers and technologists from central and local government, industry, the academic and research communities, consultants and service/equipment supply organisations, who exchange information about water and wastes issues.
The core priorities of the Association include sector leadership and advocacy, skills development and training, and membership support including the advancement of knowledge and best practice.
Advocacy
NZWWA makes submissions on behalf of members to Parliament on issues that relate to the fundamentals in the Association's Vision Statement - Promoting and enabling the sustainable management and development of the water environment.
Association History
The recent 50th Anniversary Conference celebrations marked special acknowledgement to the Associations humble beginings milestones and achievements made over the years. Currently the Assocaiton is gathering historical material and memoirs from its members to produce a Historical Archives page.

Board Elections
Board elections are held annually in the lead up to the AGM in September. Successful nominees are anounced at the AGM. More information and notifications will be circulated to members closer to Board elections.
All NZWWA financial members are welcome to view the 2008 Annual Report presented at the 2008 AGM held on 24 September. The meeting adopted the President's Report and Financial Reports which can be viewed by clicking the links below:
